ShonkyMaps and Contours Australia are two of the great free products contributed by our members. Other free maps include OliverK, Festy, Tracks4Australia (T4A) and the new Open Street Maps (OSM).

In our forum and shop are many free programs and tips that allow you to edit and install, maps, tracks, waypoints, routes etc to your Garmin, TwoNav or Magellan GPS.

Contributions of tracks and waypoints are welcome and there are OziExplorer maps for your laptop or PDA. ShonkyMaps and Contours Australia currently are for use on Garmin GPS but ShonkyMap variations can be used on a laptop, smartphone or PDA/PPC. ShonkyMaps and the Magellan maps are based upon Government Mapping Agency, Geoscience, the NatMap Raster maps, the Australian Mapping Agency that have produced 1:250,000 scaled maps of Australia.

When registering you will need an email account other than gmail, yahoo and hotmail as they are not acceptable when registering due to spammers using those accounts. Once registered you can change your member name and/or password and email address by clicking on the "private message" link under the "Welcome member".

If you only have a free email account such as gmail, yahoo or hotmail email your preferred member name and password to the Admin.

To see and download free maps you must join first. We do not send spam emails.

Note: There is no longer a need to post 10 qualifying posts per your registration email.
