Hi,
I found this link in this site somewhere (http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~charliemann/waypoints.htm ) and not sure how to import these files into OZI. When I import them as a text file it seems to work but no waypoints appear.
Any thoughts??

Thanks.

Hi Paul,

I don't know exactly what you did, or which file(s) you got/saved/downloaded...

What I did: (using FireFox, not IE)

I followed the link you posted.
It came to a site where this chap has waypoint files for download.
I click on one of the .wpt files and it opens as a text file!
I click BACK in my browser, then right click the file, and 'save as' ***x.wpt.
(I saved the CSR waypoints)
Open Ozi, load the CSR.wpt file, and everything displays fine :)

I think the trick is to NOT save the text...but save the file, or download the all.zip file, and delete(or not??) anything you want to from there!!

cheers.

I'm assuming you want to import a waypoint .txt file into OziExplorer. If so, go to this link (http://www.gpsaustralia.net/forums/showthread.php?p=7039#post7039) for the instructions. Another member asked a similar question a couple of days ago for the same site.

Paul,
In the instance regarding the website you inquired about, disregard my previous post. The waypoints on that site are in an OziExplorer .wpt format already. All you need to do is download the file by right clicking the file and saving it.

With a map of the appropriate area opened in OziExplorer, just load the waypoint file directly into OziE using the "Load" button and then choosing "Load Waypoint from File". Locate the file and click on it to load.

After loading, you can save the waypoint file any name you wish by using the "Save" button and choosing "Save WayPoints to File". Save the waypoint file under the C:\...\OziExplorer\data folder, as this is the folder that OziE defaults to when loading tracks, waypoints and routes.

Hope this assists.

Thanks guys,

For some reason it was saving it as a text file and not a .wpt file.
Anyway, all sorted.
Cheers.
