I am looking for a replacement for my ageing Mio C510 in-car navigator. (Works perfectly but they don’t update the maps any more).
There is a Model GPS7003 Navigator on e-Bay (item number 250467817525 for example, and others similar). Said to run Windows CE 5.0 NET and maps on SD card, but nothing to show where they get their maps from or how old they might be.

It has the description “This model is compatible with most brands of GPS software however hardware specific software such as Garmin may not run on this unit.” Does this mean I can get updated maps in some generic format and install them myself? I don’t mind paying for updated maps but it annoys me to scrap perfectly good hardware (like the Mio).

I shifted your thread in the appropriate section which should give your answer. Your question has been asked many times and does not need to be re-answered.
