Hi has anyone seen or tried this software that converts Raster to Vector and so any pro's and con's

wouldn't differentiate a track from a river or from a contour line and would produce only one colour. This is more for graphic artists not map making but in saying that some maps might be ideal for this application such as pure contours or pure tracks or old mine towns etc. Of course you will need to geo reference the data, somehow.

Thanks Nicko you can georef using pixal method and also has other enhancements in the Pro version

I've used it and it works well if you can afford it, obviously you need a very noise free raster image, the pro version will read a world file and produce a georeferenced vector file.
The freeware version works the same without the georeferencing.

If your after a free raster to vector look at Mapscan, it didnt work on my system but the price is right if you can figure it out.
