Being new to using a GPS and no knowledge of mapping software, Can anyone give me some direction as to what is a reasonably easy programme to learn?
( I have a GARMIN GPS II+ ).

I mainly want to use it to be able to transfer tracks and waypoints from unit to PC, and be able to print out trails for visitors to our property in Wentworth Falls, NSW (Blue Mountains) on topographical maps.

Basic and FREE software is preferable, but will invest in software down the track ( no pun intended .. :laughing- )

Look forward to help and responces,

Phil. :food-smil

Hi Phil
I think most people here will recomend you get OziExplorer
http://www.oziexplorer.com/
You can download a free trial version but it is limited, as a browse of their web site will explain. Give it a try to see if it suits you.
Full version is about $140 & is fantastic value for the price, lots of info on using it on this site.
Many maps available thru this web site, take your time to read thru the different threads, use the search button as needed.

regards Michael

Thanx Michael....ended up buying Ozi + 3D.

With some help from Arthur, I've managed to get what I wanted to get done for now.

Now it's a matter of learning the programme.
