Gday All,
Can anyone tell me if there is a software programme that can convert MAP. files to a BMP. file ???

Or...If anyone can supply me with a topo map of KATOOMBA region in BMP format?

Thanks,

Phil.

You can't convert .map files into .bmp (if you are referring to Ozi maps??)

You can convert the image file to a bmp image...but I dunno why you'd bother?? ... bmp is very large in size.

You can use any image editor, and a few viewers to convert from one to another... etc..

Search for Irfanview ... is great for converting many formats.

You need to specify, what image format (OZF I'm assuming??).

If it is ozf, then you need a program called ...damn I forget now....hang on a min .. I'll get back :o

MakeImage! ... :o
(damn clean forgot a minute ago!)

This is the only ozf to image conversion program that I know of.
It won't convert ozfx3 to image formats though!.... only ozf and ozf2 formats.

If you can't find a copy or a link.. I'll get back. :)

Aha! ... I know what's going on now...

you just got a copy of Ozi(trial version) and the only limitation is that you can only use bmp files! ...
(I just read some more of the Forum threads ;))

bummer that!! .. but you can do it...

MakeImage can't convert directly to bmp ... (I can't really remember back 8 months :p) .. but you can convert to any image format, open with MS Paint or something, and 'save as' ... ***.bmp!

I'd do it for ya.. but I guess the bmp file will be about 5meg or so... they are huge! It'd be hard to upload to ya!

Thanks Arthur...yep, I want to convert so I can use Ozi till I get the hang of it and be able to afford the programme.

Only really need the one map...being of the Katoomba area...alot of money for such a small area.

Thanks for the info.

Phil.

Thanks Arthur...had a look for 'MakeImage'...but no luck.

If you can get a copy of the link....or programme for me, would be much appreciated.

A simple Google search for "makeimage ozf" finds:

Hope it is of some use.
