Has anyone tried one of these in the vehicle for moving map?The touch screen looks a good set up but dont know if it could handle the vibrations etc .Not really bulky so should be a easy to set up and the screen size sure beats a PDA.Any thoughts appreciated,

The link as follows:

The $1,900 Price Tag is quite painful considering it's only Discount Retail $900 USD ($1,500AU landed with taxes and duty and freight included) with street mapping software, which you don't get here in AU. There was one for $1,700 AU but is a grey import. Our buy price (which is standard for all authorised Aussie dealers) is $1,782 plus freight; so you see we are only making $100 (5.6%) on this to be competitive. This is a cash or direct deposit price otherwise Mastercard/Vias add 1.8% and Amex/Diners 3%

The specs look good, although it is only a 900MHz unit but the BT, Wi-Fi, 60GB hard drive etc are nice features plus optional foldable keyboard.

To some it's perfect, at the moment I just feel it's over priced. Buy it if you have nothing and needed something NOW, otherwise hold off for 3 months for the price to drop.

The hard drive should handle the minor bumps etc in a 4WD but if you are hitting the hard trail with rocks and tree trunks etc then you may find the hard drive longevity reduced. Anything that stores data should have the data backed up.
