Having spoken to one of my dealers they informed me that Next Destination had "taken back" all their Roadmate 300. I phoned Next Destination and confirmed they have taken the Roadmate 300 off of the product line. The official reason was due to Magellan US not able to provide mapping support for the Roadmate. Unofficial reason was it was a lemon.

Next Destination seem to have a bad run with their products becoming obsolete so quickly. The FX series marine GPS, the Sportrack and MLR and datacards/accessories to suit.

To replace the Roadmate the CrossoverGPS (formally the roadmate 2500T) will be made available June/July.

The Magellan site link page below I had trouble with so the one below may work for you. USA retail is around $450, so I would say it won't be cheap. At least it allows for handheld type software like the DiscoverAUS Streets and Tracks Topo and Street by Street with voice. I would hope it can also take marine because they are rather lacking in that area as well; one site says it does but we will have to wait to see what ND make available with the CrossoverGPS.

Be aware that they mention it is waterproof to IPX4, well IPX4 is not waterproof but water resistant or splashproof. Waterproof would be IPX 7 (submersed in 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes).
