Silva Multinavigator

Hello, quite new to the whole GPS thing. I have a Silva multinav, also have a laptop. i was thinking of using these together for navigation whilst 4wd'ing. just wondering some thoughts: if this will work, what programs would suit this unit, and anything else ive overlooked, thanks.

The review states that it supports "nmea out" so you will be able to use Oziexplorer (www.oziexplorer.com) with the unit. You will need the cable to connect to the laptop. I would probably recommend the rechargeable battery mentioned at http://www.silva.se/upload/outdoor/products/mns_start.htm
if you intend to do some lengthy map work while driving around in the 4x4.

It looks like a good unit with digital compass and altimeter.
