Hello,

Has anyone checked out this little beauty - Asus Eee 701 7" screen - solid state - Linux OS (optional XP) - laptop. Could be the ideal shockproof in-vehicle computer running Ozi Moving Map etc.

Already released overseas and is due to be released tomorrow Dec 01 2007 at Myer Stores Australia for $499.

SMH article here - ASUS Eee article (http://blogs.smh.com.au/gadgetsonthego/archives/2007/11/asus_eee_pc_the_disposal_compu.html?page=3#comments)

Review here Spanish - in English - ASUS Eee review (http://www.hispazone.com/eeepc/)

Much more info now available via Google.

I've been watching this one for about 6 months (very much vapor-ware back then).
I would love one of these. I think only the OLPC (now called the XO) would be better for me (the OLPC draws about 3 watts of power and is also Linux powered).

Either one would be very cool indeed.
