I just got a Garmin eTrex Vista HCx and I'm looking forward to learning how to use it from you lot.

Can any one suggest the best free maps for the central west of NSW (mudgee/bathurst region)

Hi and welcome, like named person!! Shonkymaps is the only free map. Look in the maps/Australia wide part of the forum and you will find it.
