I cannot seem to get both AC 2.0 and shonky topo (no contours) up on the mapsource screen at the same time. This would be a very handy thing for planning a course.

Anyone........ ??

I'm pretty sure you can't, at least I've never done it.
It's a bit silly when you consider a handheld GPS does it but a computer program can't. Once again it's Garmins software letting down the hardware. (I hope Garmin is reading these complaints!)

Garmin Mobile PC software already achieves this quite successfully but you have to part with more money. :mad
Here is a Screenshot (http://www.gpsaustralia.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1612&stc=1) from my laptop posted a couple of days ago showing City Navigator and AUS Contours 2.0 overlaid.
If you want to compare mapsets Garmin Mapsource can be opened in multiple windows.

Why should they. Mapsource is written to support there maps only and not third party ones like CA or Shonky. As long as Garmin is making money out of there hardware and software they turn a blind eye to third party maps. But at the same time some of there sales are because of third party maps.

GenesisI think we would be all using it instead of Mapsource, if there was one.
