Hi,
I've just joined this forum and the GPS world and am having trouble understanding all this.
I have an etrex venture cx and have just downloaded your combined, shonkymaps,track4australia and contour overlay.
What now?????
How do I open this program? I have also downloaded Mapsource in the understanding that it would open it - which it won't.
I am now of the (mis)understanding that I need a legal version of this software.
Is there another program to use to get these maps open and into my GPS?
Your tutorial is all well and good - for someone that has already found the secret to unlocking the program in the first place, but I haven't even got that far yet. Please help.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

You have downloaded what is the end result of the video, meaning, selecting the maps for mapsource to create what you have; and that map you have is not visible within mapsource but on the GPS.
The maps I selected were downloaded from this site as an exe file and executed them by clicking on them. This allows mapsource to then display the maps you have in that map select window top left.
As to unlocking the program, presuming you mean mapsource, well, you need to look further around in the Garmin software section of this forum for the answer.

Many thanks Nicko for uploading this, it is so much easier seeing how it is done than any explanation.
Cheers mate.
