BMboomer has started some good work trying to better understand the Windows CE system on the Tevion 4301 which can be found here: Working around Windows CE to add other maps to the GPS unit (http://www.gpsaustralia.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4515&page=14&pp=15)

While people have successfully ported mew maps, TomTom, etc onto the previous P301 Model. See these posts by Gezza66 (http://www.gpsaustralia.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4515&page=9)
or by Interested (http://www.gpsaustralia.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4515&page=3), who BTW never came back with his findings, or even here (http://www.differo.com/content/the-sp35a-compact-car-gps-navigation-system)

However, this version of the OS seems to be different to the previous versions. For one there is no shell.ini file. Secondly, none of the config files like the startup.ini, found in the windows folder, can be opened in a PC environment. They are locked and hidden and do not show up when copied across to a desktop environment via MS Activesync.

Other than that the GPS seems to work fine. Recalculation is very quick. It is easy to customise.

So computer gurus who have found a work around this System, please post your findings.

Cheers, N2GPS
