View Full Version : Re-Radiating Antenna

I'm considering putting one of these in the fourbie and just wondering if anyone has any negative or positive feedback on them?

I read in a review that one of their problems is that they can pick up direct signals from outside the vehicle and signals from the antenna at the same time, causing inaccuracy. If this were the case would it be smart to mount the GPS right below the roof to block out as much direct signal as possible?

Do you have problems picking up signal without an antenna?
I've only heard good things about them. If you were able to mount the external antenna pretty much right above the GPS (ie. front of roofrack, on snorkel etc), you would minimise horizontal inaccuracies.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you can get an external antenna for the eXplorist so I have to resort to the Re-Radiating antenna. I have a Jeep and the signal received inside is very low unless I put it right down the front of the dash, which makes it a little hard to view :o
