Text to speech for Garmin GPSMAP 60csx with Sony PSP

Hi Guys,
Here's a demo YouTube video of my latest project made possible with the homebrew PSP Flite speech engine.

This GPS Text to speech demo is a very early (first 24 hours) test program for an eventual program
that will compliment my Garmin GPSMAP 60CSX with a text to speech feature,
and also hopefully provide an extra navigation screen on the PSP so that the GPS unit
can display the map screen (thus, I see two different screens at once).

I don't really anticipate anyone else will use it, but maybe interesting to see.
I think the finished program will be pretty good.

Any help interpreting $GPBOD, or $GPRMB to figure out the direction
of next turns would be appreciated.
At the moment, I'm not sure if that info is provided out of the serial port.

Hi Art,

I've just watched both of your You Tube videos and the program looks pretty cool!

I reckon if you've got the skills to produce a program like this and save yourself a few bucks by not having to buy the latest and greatest in car navigation system, more power to you.
Certainly wish I had your technical skills.

Keep us all posted on your progress, it will be interesting to see the finished result.

A lot of time and work has gone into that program , but i think I will still with the Nuvi :wave

This is a "show off your project" section.
I'm not trying to sell it to you.
I already have enough PSPs, and your Nuvi will never open your garage door for you when you arrive home,
or log data in exactly the format you want it,
or a myriad of other things
that my PSP does not yet do, but has the potential to do.
