I installed VantagePoint on a PC and then connected a Triton 1500 to a PC USB port but VantagePoint would not recognise the GPS as being connected. Tried different USB point to no avail. I didn't have any batteries in the Triton 1500 but when I plugged it in to the PC I could turn it on. Is the GPS meant to be in comms mode?

It might be due to a technical problem with drivers as I did get an XL to work, so later I will try again.

Hello - is driver installed (mud.sys)? - when you plug the GPS in windows it should do the usual trick of asking to install the driver. If you installed the vantagepoint software it should also have installed driver. Maybe you have to do it manually? Did you install Vantagepoint from the net or from the disc that came with the unit.
Device drivers and latest version of Vanatgepoint can be downloaded here
