MioPocket Lite (Unlock for Mio Cx20 GPS)
After much thought, i've decided to steer away from writing add-on skins for MioPocket 2.0 and put together an SD based unlock instead. This unlock package started life as the very first creation by Xtyler92 (Simple Unlock) and ended up looking alot more like MioPocket 2.0 (script-wise).
Unlike MioPocket 2.0, which caters for almost every person & every GPS navigation unit on the market by including a large number of programs and scripts, MioPocket Lite is geared towards the person who wants their GPS unit unlocked and only the bare minimum of programs included. In other words, MioPocket Lite is a minimalist approach to unlocking Mio Cx20 GPS navigation units and is more of a starting platform for people to configure their unlock package to suit their own needs. I've only configured MioPocket Lite to support Mio Cx20 series navigation units but will look at extending support to other units if the demand is there. The main features of MioPocket Lite are: 1. MioPocket Lite is primarily an SD card based unlock program that doesn't rename any files on your GPS which means a hard-reset will put your GPS back to factory specs. 2. Although MioPocket Lite is primarily SD card based, it also supports the use of SD WiFi cards by transferring the necessary system files to your internal flash drive so you can remove the SD card that MioPocket Lite is installed on. These system files are only installed to your flash drive if you indicate during configuration that you will be using an SD WiFi card. 3. There is no need to manually transfer the correct SD WiFi registry file to the custom registry folder as this is done during the configuration process when installing MioPocket Lite. 4. If you perform a hard-reset and re-install MioPocket Lite and opt not to use an SD WiFi card, MioPocket Lite will automatically delete any system files transferred to your internal flash drive & the custom registry folder from a previous installation. 5. Internet Explorer, Opera & the nPOPuk email client are automatically transferred to your internal flash drive if you indicate that you intend using an SD WiFi card during the installion/configuration process. 6. The toolbar at the bottom of the MioPocket Lite page gives you access to features & applications including all the standard applications of the Mio menu, common settings utilities like Mio settings, Control Panel, Regedit, Windows Explorer etc., and a portal to Windows CE for people who either prefer a hands-on approach with the operating system or who will be using an SD WiFi card. 7. Windows CE's standard colours, wallpaper & startup sound have been customized for a more aesthetically pleasing experience. The startup sound is set to Windows Vista by default but XP's startup sound is also included. Additional wallpapers are also included. 8. There are a small number of other programs and utilities including WordPad, HPC Media Player, Calc98 and a dozen other small utilities accessed via the Windows CE start menu. Feel free to experiment with MioPocket Lite and be sure to post back if you have something interesting to share or have a problem. You can download MioPocket Lite with the link at the bottom of this post. Here are some screenshots of MioPocket Lite. MioPocket Lite has now been updated to version 3.0
1. The most noticable difference is the user interface which has a much brighter and cleaner look than the last one. I can recommend that turning the backlight down to 2 will make it much easier on the eye and will save you some battery life too. 2. I've configured Opera to be transferred to the flash drive along with Internet Explorer & nPOPuk if the user indicates they will be using an SD WiFi card. This gives the user a choice of browser. 3. The Windows CE wallpaper & startup sound has been changed to Windows Vista to reflect the more modern appearance. Windows XP wallpapers and startup sound are still included. 4. I've also fixed some issues with the taskbar still being visible when launching MioMap from WinCE and did some other alterations relating to aesthetics. The opening post has been updated with new screenshots and download link. Thanks, MickeyG |

Will this work on a moov 200?
|
Hi
works a treat on Mio 720 Thanks Greg |
MioPocket Lite has now been updated to version 4.0
Most of the changes are behind the scenes (streamlining of script etc.) but i've made a few noticeable changes. 1. What used to be the standby button has now been replaced with a power menu icon (thanks to xtyler92 for the idea). The power menu gives you 4 options (Standby, Restart, Shutdown & Hard Reset). If you choose either Shutdown or Hard Reset, you will be asked if you want to back up the registry prior to shutting down so user preferences can be reloaded on the next installation. 2. Having a power menu icon has also meant that i could incorporate a Skins page and replaced the Restart icon with a Skins icon. MioPocket Lite only has one skin loaded by default but you can replace one of the blank ones with your own. 3. The USB Mode icon now launches you into a more graphical environment which is in keeping with the rest of the skin. Updating this now means there are no more ugly MortScript dialog boxes. I've updated the opening post with new screenshots and you can download MioPocket v4.0 by clicking on the link at the bottom of the opening post. MickeyG. |
Here we go again... :)
MioPocket Lite v5.0 is ready for download. With this release, you're able to install it in 4 different ways: 1. SD-Card without WiFi support (transfers the minimum number of files to the internal flash drive - made for people who like to load their flash drive with tons of maps). 2. SD-Card with WiFi support (transfers the same files as above but also transfers Internet Explorer, Opera Browser & nPOPuk Email client to the internal flash drive - made for people who use WiFi SD cards but find space on their flash drives a bit hard to come by). 3. SD-Free without WiFi support (transfers everything to the internal flash drive but doesn't include WiFi support - made for people who don't have a WiFi card and like carrying SD cards full of music & movies). 4. SD-Free with WiFi support (transfers the same files as option 3 but also configures your device for use with one of the 3 supported WiFi SD cards. This option is for people who want the lot). None of the options above renames any files on your device which means a hard-reset is all it takes to kill MioPocket Lite. You'll have residual files on your flash drive but they can be deleted easily using a computer and a USB cable. Some other changes i've made.. - Changed the link for the task manager icon to point to Task Manager v3,1 instead of ITaskMgr.. more powerful application. - Added GAPI setup files. GAPI is used by many applications for faster/smoother graphics rendering including MioPocket Lite's HPC Media Player. - Added progress bars where installation times might make you wonder if your Mio has locked up. Download link for MioPocket Lite v5.0 is on the first page as usual. ... more to come!! MickeyG. |
This is becoming a daily ritual... MioPocket Lite v6.0 is ready for download.
In this release, i've, hopefully, fixed the 2 bugs reported in another forum.. 1. The Ambeon WiFi SD card wasn't being recognised because the registry file was truncated so didn't contain all the information the card needed to function. Thanks to wzonev for the link to the complete reg file. 2. Two shortcut files for Opera wouldn't copy over to the flash drive due to some sloppy script writing and stopped MioPocket Lite in it's tracks. For some strange reason, my C520 didn't complain even though they didn't copy over either. With the bugs out of the way, i've included another couple of features in this release. 1. You now have the ability to enable/disable USB connectivity. This is a really handy feature for people who, like me, use their Mio's to access WiFi hotspots and use external battery packs to increase battery life. The annoying thing about using battery packs and other external power sources is that the Mio thinks you're trying to connect to a PC and starts USBConnect. Now, you just need to click on the USB Mode icon and it will give you a couple of options depending on what mode you're currently in. If you choose to disable USB connectivity, you'll get the following warning: Quote:
Re-enabling USB connectivity is just a matter of clicking on the USB Mode icon and going through the same process. It will then reboot, restoring USB connectivity. 2. When you click on the Windows Explorer icon, you'll be presented with 2 options.. Windows Explorer or CE Commander. I normally use Windows Explorer but find it has a nasty habit of messing with Internet Explorer. If you don't use Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer works perfectly but once you start Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer won't load any web pages until you do a restart. CE Commander doesn't have that problem. I'm not really sure what causing it. If someone does, please let me know. Cheers, MickeyG |
Hi,
Does it support 320 x 240? |
G'day Wahroonga Farm,
Not as yet. That's definately next on the agenda though as i've had quite a few requests for it. I'll pull my finger out and get it happening. Chhers, MickeyG |
I've just updated MioPocket Lite again. This was due to somebody having issues with insufficient free space on the flash drive so i've made MioPocket Lite check that there's enough space before it starts copying anything.

For anyone with a device that uses 320x240 resolution, i've quickly put together a skin for your device.
Download -> MioPocket Lite v8.0 (modified for 320x240 resolution) Please download the file & extract it to the root of your SD card. You may also have to create a new folder and/or rename MioAutoRun.exe & MioAutoRun.mscr as per the following instructions. 1. Copy MioAutoRun.exe, MioAutoRun.mscr and Mortscript.exe to the root of your SD card, then rename them according to the following: * c320, c520, c620, c720, c725 and c728: no renaming necessary † * c310: rename MioAutoRun.exe to c310Auto.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr to c310Auto.mscr * c510: rename MioAutoRun.exe to c510Auto.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr to c510Auto.mscr * c710: rename MioAutoRun.exe to c710Auto.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr to c710Auto.mscr. If that doesn't work, rename them to Oscar200DM.exe and Oscar200DM.mscr * c220 and c250: rename MioAutoRun.exe to oscar91adm.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr to oscar91adm.mscr. If that doesn't work, try the c230 names below. * c230: rename MioAutoRun.exe to autorun_ABC.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr to autorun_ABC.mscr. If that doesn't work, rename them to goce.exe and goce.mscr * h610: rename MioAutoRun.exe to H610Auto.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr to H610Auto.mscr * 268+ and 269+: rename MioAutoRun.exe to autorunce.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr to autorunce.mscr * Other Digiwalker models: try all of the above names to see if any of them work. If none work, look around online for clues as to what the filename needs to be for your particular device (the posters at http://www.gpspassion.com should be able to help) or simply install to your flash disk (see below), instead. † If you flashed your cx20 (esp. c520 or c320) to Mio's new software or your model came with Navman software out-of-the-box and the above does not work, follow steps 4Bia and 4Bib below (ignore that they're for Moovs). ii. Skip to Step 2. 1B) Mio Moov models only: i. Create, in the root of your SD card, a folder with one of the following "Cobia" names, depending on your model (Note: filenames ARE case-sensitive): * Moov 150 (European: Cobia_300L_32, North American: Cobia_300L_32_NA, Australian: Cobia_300L_32_AU) * Moov 200 (European: Cobia_300_32, North American: Cobia_300_64_NA, Australian: Cobia_300_32_AU) * Moov 210 (European: Cobia_T300_32, North American: Cobia_T300_64_NA, Australian: Cobia_T300_32_AU) * Moov 300 (European: Cobia_400_64, North American: Cobia_400_64_NA, Australian: Cobia_400_64_AU) * Moov 310 (European: Cobia_T400_64, North American: Cobia_T400_64_NA, Australian: Cobia_T400_64_AU) * Moov 330 (European: Cobia_410_64, North American: Cobia_410_64_NA, Australian: Cobia_410_64_AU) * Moov 360 (European: Cobia_420_64, North American: Cobia_420_64_NA, Australian: Cobia_420_64_AU) * Moov 370 (European: Cobia_T420_64, North American: Cobia_T420_64_NA, Australian: Cobia_T420_64_AU) * Moov 500 (European: Cobia_500_64, North American: Cobia_500_64_NA, Australian: Cobia_500_64_AU) * Moov 500 R2 (European: Cobia500R2, North American: Cobia500R2_NA, Australian: Cobia500R2_AU) * Moov 580 (European: Cobia_T550_64, North American: Cobia_T550_64_NA, Australian: Cobia_T550_64_AU) * Knight Rider: KITT_USA Example: \Storage Card\Cobia_400_64_NA If the above does not help you to find the correct folder to use, connect your Moov to your computer and... a) If you have a file named "app_startup.txt" in the root of your flash drive... Open it, scroll down to the very bottom and look for the line that starts with RunSDCardExecutable. That line will look something like this... RunSDCardExecutable(SmartST_CE - Run()): CreateProcess(\Storage card\FOLDER\auto.exe) failed, error 2 ...with FOLDER being the folder name that your device requires. Create that folder on your SD card. b) If you have a file named "version.ini" on the flash drive in \Program Files\Navman\SmartST_CE\... Open it, look under the [VersionInfo] section for the "Name" entry. Create that folder on your SD card. If, for whatever reason, the app_startup.txt and version.ini methods do not work for you, read the firmware version listed (usually in white on black text) when you boot the device up and use the first code that comes after "Cobia." For example, the Moov360's firmware version starts with "COBIA 420", so the folder should start with "Cobia_420" (note the capitalized first letter, the following lower-case and the underscore). After that, for most devices, comes the amount of internal RAM, "_32" for 32MB devices and "_64" for 64MB devices. Finally, North American models append "_NA" on the end and Australian models append "_AU" on the end. If nothing works for you, try re-formatting your SD card or using an entirely different card, then look for an answer in the forums at www.gpspassion.com ii. Next, copy MioAutoRun.exe, MioAutoRun.mscr and MortScript.exe to the Cobia folder that you just created and rename the first two to Auto.exe and Auto.mscr, respectively. If this doesn't work, try renaming them to auto.exe and auto.mscr. Also make sure that you are not renaming MioAutoRun.exe to auto.exe.exe (because some operating systems hide the file extension). iii. Skip to Step 2. 1C) Asian Mios only i. Create, in the root of your SD card, a folder named for your model (ex. "C320" for the Asian c320 and "C230" for the Asian C230). ii. Next, copy MioAutoRun.exe, MioAutoRun.mscr and MortScript.exe to the folder that you just created and rename the first two to Auto.exe and Auto.mscr, respectively. iii. Skip to Step 2. 1D) Non-Mio devices Warning: Some obscure GPS devices (especially no-name Chinese GPS devices) do not revert Windows back to an unmodified condition when you perform a hard reset. You are advised against putting MioPocket on such devices because there is no way to undo any undesirable changes and you might permanently brick your unit. Most reputable brands, including all of the following, are fine. Navigon: Copy MioAutoRun.exe, MioAutoRun.mscr and MortScript.exe to the root of your SD card, then rename MioAutoRun.exe to AutoRunCE.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr to AutoRunCE.mscr. If that does not work, rename them to UpdateMe.exe and UpdateMe.mscr. Asus: Copy MioAutoRun.exe, MioAutoRun.mscr, MortScript.exe and ASUS_UserFlashCopy.dll to the root of your SD card. No renaming is needed. Becker: Copy MioAutoRun.exe, MioAutoRun.mscr and MortScript.exe to the root of your SD card, then rename MioAutoRun.exe to AutoRun.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr to AutoRun.mscr. 2) If you have the USB cable attached, disconnect it. While your device is on, insert your SD card into your device. If it's already in, pop it out and back in. Alternately, on some devices, you may be able to initiate installation by tapping the power button once and then, once the screen goes off, once again. After a few seconds, an installation window should display on most devices. If it does not, perform a soft reset and see if that initiates installation. If you have a Mio Moov device, you may need to load up MioMap and wait for a GPS lock before exiting out and attempting installation. If your device simply freezes when you attempt installation, try re-formatting your SD card or using a different card. Once the installation window displays, about 10 seconds will go by and your device will reboot to complete the installation. Note: you will need to repeat this step after every hard reset or shutdown because those operations flush MioPocket (and anything else that you installed) from memory and return your device to factory condition. Please let me know if it worked for you or the problems you've encountered if it didn't. Thanks, MickeyG (Kato250). |
Tks MickeyG :)

I've updated MioPocket Lite to version 8.0 and it now comes in 2 variations.. one for 480x272 devices and one for 320x240 devices.
The 480x272 version now includes the Stopword skin along with most of the programs it originally came with. I've finished MioPocket Lite's 320x240 skin which means that the USB Mode & Windows Explorer functions should now be working. I've made some other changes to it which may or may not address some of the problems with installation. Installation of both versions now include a progress bar which will give you an idea if it's installing properly. You must be aware that installation may take a few minutes so you need to give it a chance. If it hasn't progressed in 5 minutes, then it's stuck. If this happens, let me know at which point it's getting stuck. Fingers crossed, MickeyG.
