760 and topo map installation/ download.

Hey Guys,

I hope this hasn't been covered....

I've just got a nuvi 760 and was thinking about installling some topo maps.

I've got the downloaded version of shonkey and wanted to install to the GPS. Can I install direct to the un**** internal memory and how? Or does it require the use of an SD card??

Any tips much appreciated and if you think any better maps are out there pls let me know. I was also hoping to get some nearer 1:100,000 too if possible (West Aust)

1:100,000 (or equivalent) will be OzTopo or Garmin Topo at $229 a copy on DVD.

Alkimos what part of WA are you in?
OSM maps cover most of the southwest roads that you're likely to use. The routing works on the 760 too.

Some of that area has been done. Add Shonky maps and I think you'd be covered as good as you're going to get.
