OSM Victoria IMG - the sea is yellow, not blue!

Hi All,

I'm a relative GPS newbie and have just downloaded the latest OSM Garmin IMG file for the Victorian map.

All looks fine when I load it into (latest version) MapSource on my PC - the sea is shown as blue, the land as yellow.

However when I upload the map into my GPS (eTrex Venture HC v3.10) the sea is now also yellow. The shoreline is only shown as a thin blue line.

I've checked all of the map and display settings on my GPS and nothing I've tried changing has any affect on the map colours.

Do you have any ideas of whether this sort of thing is usual...?

Any suggestions or comments greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Mike.

A quick SEARCH of this forum finds amongst others:
http://www.gpsaustralia.net/forums/...ead.php?t=11328

A quick SEARCH of your GPS manual finds help on page 41

On my GPSmap60C

MENU > MENU > Setup > Map > Marine Colors > Off

displays MOST waterways in blue.

It may work on your GPS and mapset?

When I view the OSM maps in RoadTrip on the Mac, the sea is yellow also.

Hi,

@fossiker2000, I stand corrected - the sea is also showing as yellow in my version of MapSource as well as on the GPS.

I'm guessing the issue is with the OSM map data, rather than the GPS - I've also tried marine colours on/off to no effect.

Cheers,

Mike.
