Complete Carputer.

I'm moving onto a new project and have decided to sell my carputer.

Complete setup out of my 4 Runner

7" Lilliput LCD Touch screen
Globalsat USB GPSr
Pentium 3 700mhz
SIS Micro ATX main board
512 MB SDRAM
20GB Notebook HDD
Morex 80W 12V DC/DC Power Supply
All power and VGA and USB cables included.

$500 for the LOT!

I recon so.. :

Next GPS will be a PDA/CF based setup I think.. I plan on using it out side the car too. (Read Geocaching)

Yeah, nice one. My old man just went for a setup like that for his travels around australia in retirement, does all the usual spoken directions & runs ozice for outback stuff, 1GB card with 2005 natmaps & great desert tracks, keeps him happy until I have to help him with something he doesn't know or has forgotten how to do

Hi Craigus

You will have to keep us all informed on what your getting.

I am looking along the same lines and are leaning towards the hx4700 for a PDA with oziCE. Have not worked out the rest yet

Won't be for a while yet though, I have some work to do on the 4Runner first. :

being the geek that I am this is really cool craigus, and looking at your web site piccies fired me all up re doing something about what I have been thinking about for some time.

I want to know if anyone out there has had experience with the car computers that are appearing on the market, that fit into a standard DIN compartment?

Are the compact m/b and parts easily sourced ? might have to look at the next swap meet for them.

Yeah, these days the MATX mother boards are really easy to find. Though If I was to do it again I'd be going after an ITX board with VIA CPU.
