  1. Thumbs up Sharkcavers blog

At the request of the site owner, I add my blog to this thread in the link below. Nothing exciting to my mind, just a blog on a few trips away, caching, outback touring vehicle modifications, and some fridge reviews. Its only a recent addition and I'll keep it updated as things progress.

    Regards,

    Shane.

Yeah, some photos are pro.... well pro postcard at least

You could prove to be invaluable for pics, testing and write ups
The sun rises and sets, the moon wax and wanes, oceans ebb and rise, warmth of spring and the coolness of autumn and my heart beats as if I belong to them all.

  4. Glad to hear you all enjoyed it. Michael, just wait till I put up my Kimberley boating trip from 5 years ago in the buccaneer Archipelago, That'll wet your maritime appetite! Might be a bit old now, but it was the trip of a lifetime. Only 5000km's of towing a boat involved to get to and from the ramp I need to get out into the Eastern Goldfields to explore, so much country, so much history, so little time

  5. Well, as the forum seems so unactive of late, I'll put this link up if you want a bit of adventure travel reading.

And guess what....When I got home I remembered Nicko's request for shots of gps in use....silly me.

Still under construction, some more pics and bits of stories to include yet, but its mostly there now.

    Anyhow,

    enjoy the quiet time read.

Ditto what I said 18 months ago.
Thank you for posting, it was certainly more adventurous than my most recent trip.
Last week away at camp with 40 yr 5 students (approx. 11 year olds)
Travelled the huge distance all the way down to Merricks on the Mornington Peninsular, took at least 45 minutes to get there.
Lots of fun surfing at Point Leo, canoeing, kite making, bike riding etc.
Then the really fun bit, trying to get 40 kids to shut up & go to bed each evening.
    regards Michael

    Thanks for the kudos mate.

Let me see now....40 x Yr 5's or one 7 year old family member full of attitude who also doesn't like to go to sleep....Hmmm hard call.

But sounds like you had fun and enjoyment anyway. At the end of the day, that's what its all about.

enjoyed your trip, thanks. haven't been away for a while myself and with a year of long service coming up next year will finally be able to hit the trail for longer than the dreaded school hols.

    Thanks Shane

    Enjoyed your blog.

You really need to do better focussing with your camera if you want us to look at the picture of the fly. It was way out of focus on the fly.

You've had a photo (the wallaby one) deleted or moved.

I note your comments about the 'wet pack-up' of the ulti and remember the same issue when I was a kid as we travelled around the US in 1969/1970 in a fold out camper van.

Really enjoyed the read mate. Great pictures. You must have a fairly nice camera.

  10. Barry, you crack me up...good one. Photobucket gives me grief occasionally. After an edit, I find the next day one of the links is broken. Its fixed again now, and more pics have been added.

As for the camera, its an old 4Mp olympus point and shoot with 12x optical zoom. Works too good to just chuck it out for a dslr replacement. I'll wait till it dies.
