  1. Simple Software for Windows CE

    Hi Everyone.

This is my first post here.

I'm looking for a simple GPS program that runs on Windows CE, preferably a free download. All I want is to display simple GPS data, not moving map or navigation. Something like the information that might be available on a basic GPS unit.

    Any information would be helpful.

  5. Thanks guys

Looks like I've got a FEW places to start...!

Some of these look good but I am looking for something even simplier that these. I need basic .exe programs as the device I'm using is running a very cutdown version of Windows ce. Its more like file manager than windows.

Sometimes I think the Search button above should be twice as large and flashing red.
Surely I'm not the only one using Google MANY times a day?
    Oh and did I mention

  9. ask a simple question.......

I did try the search button but it came up with so many results I thought, after sifting through about 20 of 'em, it might just be easier to ask...! And don't even ask me about Google. Half a day searching didn't turn up anything that worked.

Perhaps if I explain with more detail. The device is a Voxson in car GPS. It has its nav program on an SD memory card which, with a bit of clever reprogramming, can be made to run Oziexplorer CE under gsfinder.exe. Gsfinder looks and works a lot like windows file manager. It's gsfinder that allows you to run other simple .exe programs like Ozi CE.

What I need is another simple .exe program. Many of these other programs assume you are using a PDA with full Windows CE and some sort of sync program with a PC. I can't do that. All I can do is copy files to the SD card where they can be accessed by gsfinder. So what ever program I use, it has to be a simple .exe.

BTW....if anyone has an in-car GPS that has its nav program on an SD card, this thread on the Patrol forum may be very interesting.

My comments were not directed at you but are more of a general nature and I was being a little sarcastic.

Anyway I have attached a single .exe file for you to try. Unzip it first and copy to your device. No promises. It was simply copied from my PDA.
    Details here: www.visualgps.net

I will search out a few others tomorrow.
    Added another.

  11. Thanks Nev.

Unfortunately they didn't work but they are on the right track. I suspect there are other components to those programs or I just can't run them on such a basic system.

I'll keep trying. Thanks for your help.
