Garmin Nuvi 760 - POI Dialling Problem

Please be aware of the following

Basically the problem is when you pair a mobile with the unit and select any POI any try to dial the number the number will not dial due to the number format within the software.

    Give it a go

This as this is one of the main reasons why I purchased Garmin.

I have been on the phone 4 times to Garmin directly with no success all I have been advised is to send an email to the US advising of the problem.

I have also contacted the local Garmin Rep in QLD but the mobile message bank is full, have sent an email today waiting on a reply. Have also sent an email to Garmin Customer support.

Can anyone advise who else I can contact to have this fixed?

    Regards

    David

I have to give them a call today regarding another issue so I will ask them.

Upgraded from 4.0 to 4.1 did not resolve this issue as suggested by the local Garmin Rep with POI dialling.

There is now a 50m lag between the screen and the directions given e.g. voice will say there is 500m to a turn where the screen will read 450m speed is 60kmph map detail set to full, 3d map, and British male TTS voice.

This is being discussed further in the following thread

    Update

Upgraded to Version 4.20 and the POI dialing problem still exists.

The question is who to be contact

Garmin are not interested and who do we contact at sensis?

    Hi Fourplay,

I think Garmin have lost the plot - they did not even reply to my last email.

I thought that with Garmin having an office in Australia we would receive a better service - but no. The service was better with GME.

Same old story - not Garmin's problem but a Sensis problem.

We purchase the GPS from Garmin so it is their problem. They have the responsibility to sort out the problem with Sensis.
