Free maps for Garmin Mapping GPS

If you are after some maps to upload to your GPS then try out ( LINK REMOVED BY ADMIN PLEASE READ LAST POST/REPLY) free set of maps that cover all of Australia. :

When you install Tracks 4 Australia on your computer it will automatically add itself to any copy of Mapsource. You can also use a program called Sendmap or IMG2GPS to upload the Tracks 4 Australia maps to you GPS if you don't have Mapsource.

There are actually quite a bit out there for Garmin units. Apart from the above and what Dooghan has produced, I am aware and have installed maps for New Zealand, MalSing (Malaysia and Singapore), Greece, Topo for Italy and UK, Antarctica etc. Do a Google and you'll find them.

After downloading the Sydney maps at the location below I am unable to unzip them. Are they normal winzip files or am I missing something? Thanks.

No!
Do not rush in to try to install to your Garmin untill you have learnt more about it.

Also, be careful what you read in old threads.
The other posts in this thread are 05 & 06.
T4A is now very out of date, not worth using.

Hi all listening...

At this stage I am not able to afford the $200+ for the Topo maps for my brand new Garmin EDGE 705 (I will fork out for these in a month or so). In the mean time, is there anything available ... I think the files need to have .gpx extension?
